The 61st Exhibition of the American Color Print Society will take place from May 12 th – June 4, 2006 at the Philadelphia Sketch Club. The public is invited to view the exhibition, free of charge, and is invited to a reception to meet the artists which will take place on Sunday, May 21 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm .
The American Color Print Society was founded in Philadelphia in 1939 for the purposes of exhibiting the color print. At that time most of the galleries were showing black and white prints and color prints were not accepted in shows. While the Society was founded in Philadelphia , its membership includes printmakers throughout the United States as well as some international members.
The Philadelphia Sketch Club is an organization that fosters the growth of artists by offering low cost, open enrollment workshops, exhibition opportunities, and a place to work with other area artists in order to bring arts programming to the general public.
The Philadelphia Sketch Club is located at 235. S. Camac St. (between 12 th & 13 th ; Locust & Spruce Sts.). Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. For further information, go to www.sketchclub.org or call 215-545-9298.
