Alan Klawans -- Solo Show, January 4 to March 30 2004 Downstairs Gallery
Award Winning Designer to Present Recent Works at the Philadelphia Sketch Club
Alan Klawans will be presenting his most recent works, a series of digital collages, in a solo exhibition at the Philadelphia Sketch Club from January 4 through March 30. An opening reception will be held to meet Mr. Klawans on Sunday, January 4 from 2:00 until 5:00 pm. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
Klawans’ distinguished career as a design executive for a major corporation and an instructor at several area art schools is punctuated by exhibitions of his paintings and prints as well as design awards from numerous professional organizations including the Society of Illustrators, New York Art Director’s Club, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Klawans is also an active member and former curator of exhibitions at the Philadelphia Sketch Club.
The Philadelphia Sketch Club is located at 235 South Camac Street (between 12th and 13th, Locust and Spruce) and is conveniently located and accessible by many public transportation routes. The Philadelphia Sketch Club is America’s oldest artist run organization. It is an active regional arts education center that holds workshops, exhibitions, and a permanent collection of American Art from the late 19th and early 20th century.
