Artist – Poet Exhibition at the Philadelphia Sketch Club

From May 2 through May 30, the Philadelphia Sketch Club (PSC) will host Artist and Poet: Image & Word, an exhibition featuring the collaborative works by artists and poets from throughout Delaware Valley.

The concept for the exhibition is as follows: 30 poets will write a piece of poetry for which 30 artists will respond with an image. The same artists will create an image for which the poets will write a poem. This system will produce 60 visual images and 60 poems that will be displayed together in the PSC’s main gallery space.

The opening for the exhibition is Sunday, May 2 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm during which time poetry readings will sporadically take place by some of the participating poets. In addition, an open poetry reading will take place the afternoon of Sunday, May 16 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. These events are free and open to the public.
