THE PHILADELPHIA SKETCH CLUB

PHILLUSTRATION ’07 EXHIBITION

 

Illustration has always been an important art form at the Philadelphia Sketch Club.  Members at America’s oldest artists club have included such prominent American illustrators as N. C. Wyeth, A. B. Frost, Howard Chandler Christy and Joseph Pennell.  From September 14 through September 30, 2007 the Club will present Phillustration ’07, an open juried exhibition of illustration work in all media by some of the best contemporary artists.  Award categories in the exhibition will include editorial, advertising, book, sequential, self-promotional and student.  The reception for the exhibition will be on Sunday September 16 from 2 to 5 pm with the awards presentation at 3 pm.  Admission is free.  Gallery hours are M, W, F, S & S from 1 to 5 pm.  For information call (215) 545-9298 or visit www.sketchclub.org

In conjunction with this show, an exhibition titled “de l’inconnue” (what we know of this world and what is to be), an artistic series of paintings by RJ Haas, will be on display in the Club’s first floor gallery.
