Printmakers Yesterday and Today at the Philadelphia Sketch Club
March is printmaking month! The Philadelphia Sketch Club will participate in Philadelphia's tribute to the art of printmaking by hosting an exhibition titled Printmakers Yesterday and Today at the Philadelphia Sketch Club. The exhibition will feature a variety of etchings, lithographs, and other print media created by members and participants in the printmaking workshop from the past as well as the present. Works by Earl Horter, Benton Spruance, Dorothy and Hugh Hutton, Michael Kuncevich, Elizabeth MacDonald, and other noted artists will be included.
The exhibition will open with a free, public reception to be held on Sunday, March 6 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. The show will continue through the end of June, 2005. The Philadelphia Sketch Club is located at 235 S. Camac Street in center city Philadelphia (between 12 th & 13 th ; Locust & Spruce Sts.).
Other organization sponsoring events in celebration of printmaking are The Free Library of Philadelphia's Print and Picture Collection, The Print Center, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
