PAPER '07 at the Philadelphia Sketch Club

The Philadelphia Sketch Club presents its Works on Paper ‘07 exhibition at its historic center city location from January 12 through January 28, 2007 . An Artists' Reception will be held on Sunday, January 14, from 2 to 5 PM . This juried exhibition will feature works on paper by many of the prominent artists of the region in a variety of mediums to include transparent watercolor, gouache, acrylics, prints and collage. The Juror for this exhibition is Lynn Lemyre, artist, Gallery Director and Visual Arts Coordinator of the Burlington County Office of Cultural Affairs.

Complementing and in conjunction with this exhibition, The Twelve Labors of Hercules , woodblock prints by Idaherma Williams, will be exhibited in the Sketch Club's first floor gallery. These woodblock prints were first exhibited at the Lennox Gallery in London in December 2005.

Gallery hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 PM . Admission is free. The Sketch Club is located at 235 S. Camac St. , between 12 th & 13 th and Locust and Spruce Streets, Philadelphia , PA. For information call (215) 545-9298 or visit www.sketchclub.org .

Founded in 1860, the Philadelphia Sketch Club is America 's oldest artists club. Works on paper have always been of keen interest to Sketch Club members. Members who have presented works on paper there have included Thomas Eakins, Daniel Garber, Earl Horter, John Geiszel, Ranulph Bye and Sam Maitin.
